Attestation Types classify governed assertions within Satoshium Attestor so that each Attestation can be interpreted, validated, and evaluated according to the kind of statement it expresses.
Attestor's operational architecture establishes six controlled Attestation Types. These values classify the governed assertion expressed by an Attestation; they do not redefine the identity, type, or authority of any referenced Suite or external source object.
Identity Attestations express bounded assertions involving identity, continuity, participation, association, or another identity-related matter. The Attestation preserves applicable source authority and does not become the underlying identity authority.
identityEvidence Attestations express bounded assertions concerning the presence, relevance, relationship, or governed use of evidence. Evidence remains distinct from the Attestation and retains its own provenance and authority context.
evidenceSource / Provenance Attestations express bounded assertions concerning source relationships, attribution, origin, authorship, provenance, or the connection between a source and the subject of an Attestation.
source-provenanceVerification-Related Attestations express bounded assertions that reference validation, verification, review, or certification outcomes when relevant. The originating process retains its authority; Attestor does not reproduce that authority as its own.
verification-relatedRelationship / Condition Attestations express bounded assertions concerning a relationship, condition, status, qualification, participation, or other governed circumstance within the Attestation's defined scope.
relationship-conditionCorrection / Supersession Attestations express bounded assertions concerning correction, supersession, or governed change where an Attestation is the appropriate object. Correction itself remains a governed activity, and lifecycle or versioning rules determine the effect on canonical identity and state.

Attestation Types form a governed controlled vocabulary rather than an
open-ended collection of labels. The adopted values are identity,
evidence, source-provenance,
verification-related, relationship-condition, and
correction-supersession. Additional values require governed
architectural change rather than ad hoc creation.
A type name must not imply that Attestor owns the underlying authority. For example, a verification-related Attestation does not make Attestor the Certifier; an identity-related Attestation does not make Attestor the identity authority; and an evidence-related Attestation does not make Attestor the source of the evidence.
The pre-Suite model included Reputation Attestations. That category is not part of the adopted Attestation Type vocabulary. Attestor does not establish a generic reputation framework, reputation score, or canonical reputation object.
The first controlled production operation exercised the adopted vocabulary through
ATT-2026-0001, classified as
verification-related. The bounded assertion concerned the canonical
identity, attributable Certifier origin, relevant certification state, and
traceable Suite relationships of SC-CERT-2026-0001.
Production proof is value-specific. The first operation exercised
verification-related; it did not independently production-test the
other five adopted Attestation Types.
The Attestation Type architecture is established and production-proven for the
controlled value actually exercised by the first production operation. The full
six-value vocabulary remains adopted, while production proof is bounded to
verification-related.
Classification does not predetermine eligibility, evidentiary support, Evaluation Outcome, relationship semantics, or source authority. New Attestation Types require governed architectural change.
