Definitions

Definitions establish the foundational vocabulary used throughout Satoshium Attestor so that assertions, evidence, evaluation, provenance, lifecycle relationships, and Trust Statements can be interpreted consistently.

These definitions describe Attestor concepts within their institutional scope. They do not redefine canonical objects or terminology governed by other Satoshium Suite institutions.

Governing principle: Reference does not transfer authority.

Attestation

A governed, attributable assertion used by Attestor to express a bounded statement about a subject, record, relationship, condition, event, or other trust-relevant matter.

Evidence

Supporting material or an authoritative reference used by Attestor to evaluate an Attestation and support a Trust Statement. Evidence retains its own source, provenance, status, relevance, and authority.

Trust Statement

An Attestor-owned canonical conclusion: a governed, attributable, bounded conclusion produced through Rule-Constrained Evaluation of an Attestation against eligible governed inputs while preserving provenance, scope, limitations, relevant state, and authority boundaries.

Trust-Relevant Context

Information or an indicator that may be relevant to evaluating an Attestation or supporting a Trust Statement. The earlier term “trust signal” remains descriptive only and is not presently a separate canonical Attestor object.

Correction

A governed activity addressing an identified error or required change in an Attestor-owned object while preserving prior state, traceability, and the applicable Lifecycle and Versioning rules.

Provenance

Information sufficient to understand the origin, attribution, custody, relationship, or relevant history of an input, assertion, evaluation, or Attestor output.

Scope

The defined boundary within which an assertion, evidence relationship, evaluation, or Trust Statement applies. Scope prevents a bounded conclusion from silently becoming a universal one.

Authority Boundary

The limit of Attestor's institutional authority in relation to an object, source, assertion, or conclusion. Referenced objects remain governed by their originating authorities.

Attesting Authority

The authority attributable to the governed assertion expressed by an Attestation. Attesting Authority remains distinct from Referenced Authority and Attestor Authority.

Eligible Governed Input

A governed source object, reference, evidence item, Attestation, or other admissible input that has satisfied the applicable eligibility determination for a particular Attestor evaluation.

A governed admission determination for a particular Attestor evaluation. Availability, authority, and reference do not by themselves establish eligibility.

Evaluation

The rule-constrained institutional process through which Attestor considers an Attestation and eligible governed inputs to determine an Evaluation Outcome and form a bounded conclusion.

Evaluation Outcome

A controlled result of Rule-Constrained Evaluation: supported, partially-supported, not-supported, contradicted, or indeterminate. An Evaluation Outcome is not itself the bounded conclusion or Trust Statement identity.

Lifecycle State

The governed state of an Attestor object: draft, active, superseded, withdrawn, or retired. Review and correction are activities rather than lifecycle states.

Publication State

The governed public-representation state of an Attestor object: unpublished or published. Canonical creation, lifecycle activation, and publication remain distinct.

Relationship

A governed directional connection between Attestor objects or referenced objects using the adopted relationship vocabulary without implying identity or authority transfer.

Version Identity

The identity of a governed state of a canonical object. Canonical identity answers which object; version identity answers which governed state of that object.

Validation

The determination of whether an Attestor object satisfies the normative structural and rule requirements applicable to that object. Validation is distinct from substantive Evaluation.

Conformance

A determination that a declared target satisfies an applicable requirements set using the required validation and evidence. Validation supports Conformance but does not equal it.

Relevant State

The material temporal, lifecycle, publication, or source-state context applicable to an Attestation, governed input, Evaluation, or Trust Statement at the time it is interpreted or evaluated.

Suite Vocabulary Boundary

Attestor may reference Certification Packages, Satoshium Registry records, Chronicle Entries, Anchor Integrity References, Beacon Discovery Signals or Discovery Metadata, Atlas intelligence, Navigator workflow context, and other governed information.

Attestor definitions describe how those references participate in Attestor evaluation. They do not replace the definitions, schemas, identifiers, lifecycle rules, or authority established by the originating institution.

Shared interoperability does not require shared ownership of meaning.
