Signals

Discovery Signals are Beacon-owned objects that document observations, events, changes, indicators, updates, or relationships identified through discovery and considered relevant for attention.

Beacon publishes Discovery Signals and related metadata while preserving source visibility, attribution, provenance, traceability, stable references, context, and institutional authority.

Information Signals

Publications, reports, announcements, research, updates, external sources, or newly visible information that may deserve review and can be represented through attributable discovery metadata.

Jurisdiction Signals

Regulatory changes, policy updates, legislative activity, economic developments, or jurisdiction-specific events discovered through Atlas intelligence or attributable external sources.

Historical Signals

Events, discoveries, source updates, or milestones associated with Chronicle Entries or other historical context. Chronicle retains authority over its historical record.

Registry Signals

Creation, modification, correction, lifecycle, or relationship activity associated with SREG records. Registry retains authority over registered records and their lifecycle state.

Integrity Signals

Discovery of Integrity References, anchoring relationships, or integrity-related changes maintained by Anchor. Beacon may signal their relevance without assuming Anchor authority.

Trust Signals

Discovery of Trust Statements, attestation context, supporting references, or trust-related developments maintained by Attestor. Beacon does not determine trust by surfacing them.

Signal Lifecycle

Identification → Discovery Signal → Review → Follow-up → Supersession / Resolution

Discovery Signals may be reviewed, monitored, linked to authoritative objects, superseded, or resolved over time. Their lifecycle should preserve provenance and historical traceability.

Relationship to Discovery

Discovery identifies potentially relevant information. Beacon may publish a Discovery Signal that directs attention to a source or canonical object. Subsequent action remains with the appropriate Suite institution or human reviewer.

Signal Philosophy

A Discovery Signal is not certification, registration, historical authority, integrity evidence, or a Trust Statement. It does not inherit the authority of the object it references.

A Discovery Signal indicates that information may be relevant.
Reference does not transfer authority.

Beacon owns the Discovery Signals and discovery metadata it publishes. The originating institution remains authoritative for any canonical object referenced by those signals.
