Methodology

Methodology explains how Satoshium Certifier applies the Suite Methodology to perform evidence-based certification reviews, create Certification Packages, issue decisions, and generate reviewable certification artifacts.

Suite Standards define the expectations. Suite Methodology defines the process. Certifier executes that process as the Suite’s operational certification implementation.

1. Identify Certification Subject

Identify the artifact, record, dataset, workflow, service, subsystem, or tool being reviewed and define the object that will become the certification subject.

Step 1

2. Define Scope and Standards

Establish review boundaries, exclusions, applicable Suite Standards, applicable Suite Methodology sections, assumptions, and known limitations.

Step 2

3. Collect and Organize Evidence

Gather URLs, screenshots, reports, source materials, metadata, supporting documentation, and evidence records needed to support the certification review.

Step 3

4. Create Certification Package

Assemble the canonical Certification Package containing the subject, scope, standards, methodology, evidence inventory, review findings, assessment, decision, and history.

Step 4

5. Evaluate and Document Findings

Review evidence against the applicable standards, document observations, preserve limitations, explain reasoning, and prepare the certification assessment.

Step 5

6. Issue Decision and Artifacts

Issue the certification decision and generate the related artifacts, including the SCPR, SCR, SCRD HTML, SCRD JSON, and Suite reference records.

Methodology Role

Methodology is no longer framed as a Certifier-owned rule system. It is a Suite-level process that Certifier applies through operational review, evidence organization, documented reasoning, certification decisions, and artifact generation.

Standards define what must be true. Methodology defines how review is performed. Certifier preserves the result as a reviewable certification record.

Operational Boundary

Certifier does not independently redefine the Suite Methodology. It implements the methodology by applying it to certification subjects and producing Certification Packages, reports, receipts, certified records, and Suite-ready references.

This distinction keeps the institutional architecture clear: Suite Methodology governs the process; Certifier performs the certification work.

Consistent methodology makes certification repeatable; preserved records make it reviewable.
